An artist, Rebekah, and her friend Peter, a painter, are on a date in France. They are looking out over the river at a beautiful old bridge and discussing how they would like to pain and draw it. They consider collaborating their efforts to make an amazing work of art. They are enjoying each other's company. Rebekah is thinking that she is afraid to begin a relationship, but really likes Peter so she will continue spending time with him and see how things go. Peter really likes Rebekah, and has for a long time, and wants to enter into a serious relationship with her. He is a little put off by her standoffish attitude and asks her about it. She tells him about her relationship history and he understands, gently telling her that he will wait until she is ready. They continue seeing each other for awhile and Rebekah decides that it is too much, she needs to have some time for herself. However, she explains this to Peter and he understands. They get back together in the end.
